PASD offers access to a school nurse so that students and families have the option to ask a medical question/concern. Families can ask questions about signs and symptoms they are experiencing. The nurse will assess each individual case and advise whether they should seek medical care immediately or monitor symptoms.

During the school year, nurses offer several medical services to our district families. Often families contact a school nurse to get guidance on a condition, rash, possible allergies, infection. While school nurses cannot diagnose, they can assess and make recommendations about going to see a doctor.

PASD is committed to supporting and providing services to families. School nurses and staff will assist with access to resources for medical care, obtaining referrals, and transportation to medical appointments (if needed). Please contact your child’s school directly to be in touch with a school nurse.
