Questions & Answers

This section will provide responses to questions received during the RFQ process. All inquiries and answers will be posted here to ensure equal access to information for all prospective firms.

Questions may be submitted by email to the District per the instructions in the RFQ documents. Updates to this page will be posted regularly as the process moves forward.

  1. Can one principal architect have two teams, one for PAHS and one for Franklin?
    1. Yes, one principal can have two teams.
  2. Do the MEPS engineers teams be limited to one to one site?
    1. The MEPS teams are up to the architects, and not limited to one school. However, the MEPS engineering teams shall be large enough to handle both projects at the same time.
  3. Through the design process of Stevens MS, has the District documented design and material standards that the High School and Elementary School projects will follow?
    1. The District does not currently have design and material standards. However, the District may request both architectural teams to collaborate on developing standardization of design and materials for both projects.
  4. With Hamilton and Roosevelt Elementary Schools anticipated in Phases 4 and 5, will educational specifications developed for Franklin be utilized as District-standard ed specs, or be unique to Franklin?
    1. That will be up to future district PACAC teams to decide.
  5. With the interviews being in a public format, how will you ensure that the firms that present second and third are not advantaged by the opportunity to observe previous presentations and hear the questions and responses during Q&A?
    1. The format we will use will not allow that to happen. The three teams that are moved forward will have more details.
  6. Should subconsultants (civil, structural, MEP, etc.) be identified and included? What level of detail is expected for proposed team members in Section B, Item 2?
    1. The architect teams should identify subconsultants. The level of detail is up to the design team.
