Please join us in celebrating and congratulating the winners and nominees in our district for this year's Port Angeles Community Awards! Members of the community nominate individuals each year and a panel of 6 local judges decide on the winners. Here are the results from 2021:
Educator of the Year
WINNER- Angie Gooding!
Angie was nominated for her excellent rapport and relationship with students and for her creativity in generating thought-provoking assignments. She is also acknowledged for being highly respected among her fellow educators.

NOMINEES –
Jeff Lunt
Jeff was nominated for his role in taking the response to COVID-19 in the school district seriously and building a rapport with parents to keep them informed as well as keeping students safe.
Dwayne Johnson
Dwayne was nominated for his work in getting student-athletes back to playing, understanding the critical role athletics play in student development. Also for his work in establishing COVID-19 vaccine clinics at PAHS.
Young Leader of the Year
Winner - Luke Gavin!
Luke is the only student nominated for this award, with judges recognizing his leadership skills with the NJROTC, and involvement in various volunteer opportunities throughout the community.

Carmen Geyer
Carmen was nominated for her long history of volunteerism. She played a role in the Dream Playground build and is recognized for her continued work in communications for PASD.
Tyler Johnson
Tyler is a PAHS alum and was nominated for the compassion he brings to clients as a financial advisor at Edward Jones as well as his community involvement through organizations like United Way.
