Change School Request
Change school requests need to be completed YEARLY. There are 3 types of change school requests; In-District, Out-of-District, and Home School. We frequently use online avenues for Change School Requests.
In-District Transfers (District Variance Form):
You need to fill out an In-District Transfer Request (District Variance Form) if…
You live at an address in Port Angeles School District and you want to attend another school in district, but outside your assigned attendance area.
OR Your child was granted an In-District-Transfer for the last school year and you would like to request it again for the new school year. Please note that In-District-Transfers are granted based on each year’s current enrollment, which changes as families move into and out of our area. Being granted a variance one year does NOT guarantee it will be granted each new year.Choose one of 3 options for submitting your request;

Out-of-District Transfers (Choice Transfers):

You live at an address outside of Port Angeles School District and you want to attend any PASD school. This includes our online academy. Please note that Choice Transfers are granted based on each year’s current enrollment, which changes as families move into and out of our area. Being granted a variance one year does NOT guarantee it will be granted each new year.

For Home School:
You need to fill out a Declaration of Intent to Homeschool if…
You are planning to home school your student. Declarations of intent can be mailed to or dropped off at 905 W 9th St. Port Angeles WA 98363. These must be filled out yearly.
“A parent who intends to cause his/her child or children to receive home-based instruction in lieu of attendance or enrollment in a public school, approved private school or an extension program of an approved private school, must file an annual declaration of intent… This statement must be filed with the local school district Superintendent by September 15th, or within two weeks of the beginning of any public school term in which the child will begin receiving home schooling.”
