Volunteers
Community involvement is playing an increasingly important role in our schools as we face mounting educational, social and financial challenges. Port Angeles schools welcome parents, grandparents, service clubs, businesses and others interested in the well-being of our children to contribute their time, experience and expertise to our students. Many community members already volunteer in school enrichment projects, reading and tutoring, community services programs, vocational programs, and arts and crafts instruction.

All Port Angeles School District staff and its volunteers must fill out a form permitting a criminal background check.
Examples of ideas for your involvement in our schools:
- Tutor: math, reading or other subjects
- Read stories
- Help with arts and crafts projects
- Be an art docent
- Make a presentation
- Help on the playground
- Help in variety of vocational programs
- Supervise and talk to kids at lunchtime
- Help in special education classrooms
- Be a lab assistant
- Share a foreign language
- Provide a community service project
With an aptitude for office work, you can help:

You can help with special events such as:

If you work during the school day, we can help arrange for you to:
- Tutor at daycare facilities
- Tutor in the evenings
If you can help with planning or fundraising, we need you on committees such as:
- Strategic Planning
- Curriculum
- Bond and Levy Information
- Vocational Programs
- Technology Education
You can become involved in PTA/PTO or other Parent Groups in your neighborhood school.
You can contribute your time and money to the Port Angeles Education Foundation, which provides special funding for our schools.
Requirements
The following information is required in order to be a volunteer for the Port Angeles School District:
1. Completion of forms (PASD Volunteer Registration Package, Washington State Patrol Request for Criminal History Record with copy of driver’s license) provided by PASD Human Resources staff or in the volunteer's package below.
2. Read and sign Washington Schools Risk Management Pool (WSRMP) Boundary Invasion information provided by PASD Human Resources staff or below.
Return all completed forms and a copy of your driver's license to the PASD Human Resources office at the Lincoln Center located 905 W 9th St. Port Angeles.

General Volunteers
Volunteer Packet • Return to PASD Human Resources When you return your volunteer packet to PASD Human Resources, please bring your driver’s license. You must also complete a Washington State Patrol identification and criminal background check. District Calendar Information District Policies and Procedures
Coaches
The following information is required in order to be a volunteer coach for the Port Angeles School District:
1. Completion of three forms (PASD Volunteer Registration Form, Volunteer Coach form, Washington State Patrol Request for Criminal History Record with copy of driver’s license) provided by PASD Human Resources staff or in the volunteers coaches package & WSP file below.
2. Fingerprints (Visit PASD Human Resources office for fingerprint card). Clallam County Sheriff’s Office does fingerprints between 1:00-3:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. (Cost is $10 cash at volunteer’s expense, however PASD pays the $43.50 background check fee.)
3. Read and sign Washington Schools Risk Management Pool (WSRMP) Boundary Invasion information provided by PASD Human Resources staff or below.
Return all completed forms/fingerprint card to the PASD Human Resources office at 905 W 9th St, Port Angeles, WA 98363. You will be notified by the PASD Athletic Department of your assignment.
