Capital Levy

Capital Levy

We listened to our community. More than 150 local community members over the past decade have recommended improvements or replacements for PASD schools. They also recommended maximizing dollars from the State, minimize the burden on local taxpayers, and provide a long-range, performance-based plan with a consistent rate. This plan does just that and it begins with the 2020 Capital Levy.

The fundamental principles of the plan are:
  • Start with Stevens and establish a K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 school system
  • Modernize/replace schools with the most needs
  • Set a rate over 30 years while maintaining a commitment to $2.50-$2.75 per thousand
  • Voters decide every 5-6 years whether to continue the performance-based plan
  • Maximize use of State funds
  • Make our schools safe
  • Establish a community-based Facilities Advisory Board

We encourage you to review the presentation and handouts on this page, which describe in more detail the long-range plan. If you have any questions, then please contact us at Lincoln Center by calling (360) 457-8575 or emailing us at info@portangelesschools.org.
