4th Annual Caring for Kids at Christmas

Caring for Kids 2022

It is that time of year to think about the families in our district who may need Christmas assistance. The need is more significant than ever due to the rising costs of everything. There are many opportunities to donate and participate!

For this year's Caring for Kids at Christmas program, each child will receive 1-2 complete outfits, socks, shoes, a keep warm (either hoodie or a coat), sleepwear, and a toy or a gift, depending on interests.

The estimated cost to assist a school-age child is $125. The estimated cost to help a teen is $175-$200.

Monetary donations would be the best for Caring for Kids to utilize discounts, coupons, and community partners as resources to help get the most per donation. If you prefer to donate via Venmo, you can do so using this account @Jen-Riffle. Each school in our district will also accept donations

The second best option would be to adopt a child or a family. All donations need to be unwrapped. If you are interested in the "adoption" of a kid or family, please reach out to the Family Navigator Team: Summer Cooper, Rebecca Larsen, or Julie Maron.  ([email protected][email protected], and [email protected]) They have a list of children's information, including ages, sizes, likes, and interests for gifts.

Lastly, there will be collection bins in Lincoln Center's lobby (905 W 9th St, Port Angeles, WA 98363) if you would like to donate a new unwrapped toy, hoodie, socks, or underwear or new gift-wrapping supplies such as tape, bags, and wrapping paper.

This year the deadline will be December 9th for gifts and monetary donations. Thanks for helping make Christmas magical for students and families in our community!
