Expectations & Examples of Data, Statistics, & Probability from the 2008 Math Standards Revision (draft) - Grade 3

Construct and analyze pictographs in which a picture represents more than one piece of data, frequency tables, line plots, and bar graphs.

  • Graphs and tables can be used to compare two sets of data.
  • Using pictographs in which a symbol stands for multiple objects can reinforce the development of both multiplication and division.
  • Students write questions that might be answered with a graph.
