The Port Angeles School District curriculum standards guide teaching and learning in all of our classrooms in the areas of Career Technical Education, Health and Fitness, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Visual and Performing Arts and World Languages.
Curriculum is an evolving process in schools. In 2014-15, the School District is reviewing all curricula to align with Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The information listed here was based on the last set of Washington standards, which were still used through the end of 2013-14. See the CCSS here.

The district’s curriculum standards are based on the Washington State standards, Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALRs). District curriculum committees have developed grade-level benchmarks to show the developmental progression from kindergarten through twelfth grade for each standard.
The district’s Instructional Materials Committee has long been the group assigned the oversight of textbook adoption review, instructional materials review and challenges to instructional materials review.
