Voter Information
Voter Registration
Voter registration forms are available at schools, county auditor or elections department, public libraries and other government offices. You may also request a form through the Voter Hotline (1.800.448.4881) or the Internet at www.secstate.wa.gov. Washington’s Motor Voter program offers a convenient registration option allowing you to sign up at the same time you renew or apply for your driver’s license. The form enables you to register to vote or update your registration if you have moved to a new address or changed your name.
To register to vote, you must be:
- A citizen of the United States
- A legal resident of the state of Washington
- At least 18 years old by election day
- To vote in the next election, your mail-in registration must be postmarked at least 30 days before the next election. You may register in person at your county elections office up to 15 days before an election.
Note: To register for the February 8, 2011 vote, your mail-in registration must be postmarked by Monday, January 10, 2011. Or you may register in person by Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Clallam County Elections Office.

Ballot Information
A ballot for the Port Angeles School District February 8, 2011 levy election will be mailed to the homes of registered voters on or around January 19, 2011. Ballots must be returned by mail or in person to the Clallam County Courthouse by 8:00 p.m. February 8, 2011. If you do not receive your ballot or need a replacement, please call 360.417.2221.
Exemptions
Property tax exemptions for senior citizens or disabled persons.....if you are 61 or older on December 31 of the filing year (no age requirement for disabled persons). You must be the owner and occupant of a single family dwelling, mobile home, or one unit in multiple-unit housing and have a combined disposable income of $35,000 or less (including income of spouse and co-tenant). Your household income determines the amount of the exemption from regular property taxes or excess levies.
