Levy Rate History
The chart below shows how the tax rate changes based on total valuation/property assessments. The Port Angeles School District asks for a specific dollar amount needed to run our programs which determines the per thousand tax rate. The amount we ask for changes each year to keep up with the cost of living and inflation. The figures shadowed are the most current estimates, not actual data.
Please note the fixed levy amount collected by the school district does not increase after it is set in place, regardless of changes in assessed property value.
