Port Angeles, Wash. – The project start date for the hazardous material and removal and demolition of now-closed Monroe Elementary is July 31, 2017 with substantial completion by October 1st.

Construction Group International LLC of Woodinville, WA received approval by the Port Angeles School District board of directors at its June 22nd school board meeting for its bid of $554,000.

Project completion is scheduled for November 1, 2017.

The scope of the contract is hazardous material abatement, underground storage tank removal, and building demolition. The project was advertised both locally and state-wide. 

Nolan Duce, maintenance and facilities director, reported there were six bids submitted for the project. Construction Group International was the lowest bid.
