Sodexo Director Honored by Washington Association of School Administrators
April 30, 2012
Port Angeles, Wash. – Sodexo Food Services Director for the Port Angeles School District, Kathy Crowley, received a Community Leadership Award from the Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) on Monday, April 23 in Bremerton. The award presentation, hosted by WASA Region 114 school districts, included representatives and recipients from Bremerton, Central Kitsap, North Kitsap, Port Angeles, Sequim and South Kitsap School Districts.
Sodexo has been involved in a number of school programs under Crowley’s leadership: the partnership with First Step Family Support Center on the summer lunch program; implementation of the Jefferson Lunch Project at all elementary school sites; the Friday Food Bag program in conjunction with the Port Angeles Food Bank and elementary schools; and the Did You Know? Program, build-to-order stations providing more choices for students at Stevens Middle School. Sodexo sponsored its fifth annual Kids Can Cook competition in March, and Sodexo, under Kathy’s local guidance, plans to continue working with local vendors.
The Community Leadership Award is presented annually by WASA to community members or groups in recognition of their contribution to education.
