Multi-Age Community
The Multi-Age Community program, commonly know as the MAC program, is based at Franklin, but enrollment is open to all Port Angeles students, first through sixth grades via an application process.
The MAC curriculum is based on school district and state guidelines. Students are guided in their learning choices to become disciplined, motivated and confident learners. Often the learning is based upon student interest areas and enrichment projects. Students are encouraged to rely upon themselves and to cooperate and share with others. Opportunities are provided for students to learn in multi-aged groups. The children are expected to work to achieve district and state standards in all subject areas.
