Dry Creek Elementary is absolutely thrilled to be a recipient of the 2011 Washington Achievement Award for Overall Excellence. We have many challenging hurdles to overcome everyday at our school. We have the highest free and reduced lunch rate for PASD elementary schools. We also have a high transient population with students coming or going from our school. Parents, students, community members, Elwha tribe, PASD, and DC Staff work hard in concert with one another to put student learning first! Our students understand with education, comes opportunity. They also understand that they must work hard, and sometimes struggle, to persevere in their thinking/learning. This is an incredible staff that works with heart, to do right by their students. This award speaks to their passion and professionalism in working with all of our students! Like Ruskin says "When love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece." We take this award with tremendous pride and honor in our school and our community.
