1. Fill out the application online at https://portangelesjobs.hrmplus.net
2. Obtain a current driving abstract through Washington Department of Licensing (DOL)
   • While you're at the DOL, get a current copy of the Commercial Driver Guide or download it at https://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/cdlguide.html. Study chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 10. 
3. The district will screen your application.
4. If you are granted an interview, your references will be checked.
5. If you are invited to attend class, have your fingerprints checked at the District Office Bldg., 905 W 9th St. in Port Angeles. Cost of fingerprinting is $80.
6. Get a DOT physical from a licensed, certified medical examiner. Cost ranges from $100 to $250.
7. Get your Commercial Learner's Permit from DOL. You will have to pass a four-part written exam for General Knowledge, Passenger, Air Brakes, and School Bus. Costs are $35 for the tests and $40 for the CLP.
8. Obtain a current First Aid Card.
9. Attend all classroom sessions and driving times as they are assigned. Classroom content will consist of the CDL Driver Guide and OSPI School Bus Driver rules and regulations.
10. Classroom and driving sessions will cover CDL Guide chapters 11, 12 and 13.
11. On completions and passing of all classroom and driving lessons, the Driver Trainer will schedule a CDL Skills Test. Cost is $110.
12. On passing, you will return to the DOL to add CDL to your License, with P and S endorsements, and have the Air Brake restriction removed. Cost $27 to $112.
13. Port Angeles School District reserves the right to terminate training at any time.
