PAHS Students Earn Microsoft Certifications

PAHS Students Earn Microsoft CertificationsFifty students recently earned Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications by completing an exam through Microsoft Imagine Academy in their Microsoft Office class at Port Angeles High School. Digital Literacy, Word, Word Expert and PowerPoint certifications were earned.

Microsoft Office skills are one of the most requested job skills in the employment world and these industry-recognized certifications validate the mastery of these skills.

“By earning a Microsoft Certification, students have the opportunity to achieve a high degree of success in their pursuit of higher education or the workforce,” said Lisa Joslin, business educator at PAHS.  “MOS garners recognition among peers and perspective employers and lends a competitive edge in the job market.”

PAHS students who received MOS certification are Jimmy Barnes, Leo Ahlburg, Alisyn Boyd, Brooklyn Alton, Sarah Brady, Katie McCutcheon, Makenna Cornish, Lauren Hempel, Jackie Young, Casandra Shamp, Mikkiah Brady, Sophie Houston, Savannah Bray, Tanner Walker, Harmony Scott, Molly Scofield, Maddy Wray, Mallory Fox, Joslyn Millsap, Jacob Thrush, Logan Beebe, Natalie Martinson, Emily Balser, Anthony Charles, Katrin Goudie, Destiney Attwood, Jessica Amiot, Emily Metzler, Cara Stalford, Jocelyn Reifenstahl, Aeverie Politika, Teejay Johnson, Sean Rankin, Porter Litle, Lucas Jarnagin, Milo Whitman, Caydon DeMoss, Grady Bourm, Kaya Boeckermann, Yun Chong, Crystal Dam, Kyliene Ellison-Gregory, Caleb Flodstrom, Brennan Gray, Bobbie McAdow, Eva O’Neil, Michael Scott, Zachary Swanson, Mariah Thompson, and Carson Wilder.

Students who earned Microsoft Digital Literacy Certificates are Dylan Abernathy, Zack Bryson, Kelvin Kasten, Ty Lainhart, Lucas Meyer, Tarun Seera, and Maizie Tucker.

“This makes a total of 78 certifications earned this year,” said Joslin.  “I am very proud of these kids!”
